CSG Pediatric hospitalists specialize in the inpatient, non-intensive medical care of children. They provide comprehensive coverage of the patients from admission through discharge, and communicate routinely with primary care pediatricians to discuss diagnostic and treatment regimens and ensure appropriate follow-up.

Mission:

To be a service-oriented, cohesive academic hospitalist team, providing patients with quality medical care that is safe, efficient, and addresses the longitudinal needs of patients and families.

Vision:

To become the preferred provider of quality inpatient general medical services to children and families in the Hampton Roads area and surrounding communities.

Priorities:

• Quality, high-value, evidence-based pediatric care in the setting of collegial, efficient relationships with all care providers in an inpatient (non-ICU) setting
• Promote continuity of care in the inpatient and outpatient setting
• Pursue patient and process ownership by individual hospitalists and the Division
• Implement and monitor best-practices, to be reliably performed by all team members
• Collect data on clinical outcomes, safety, and quality initiatives, and present this data regionally and / or nationally to further the academic recognition of CHKD
